Maths- 10:00AM

Top Tip

Remember to label your Tens and Ones to help you keep the numbers in the right place.

English - 12:00PM

Yesterday we looked at the features of a poem. Today we are looking at questions for a poem. First look at this part of the poem, what do you notice about each stanza?

Your first task

Here's a video to help you think of something special in nature.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYXBJmrsxZU

Your main task is to write as many questions as you can about nature. Here is an example to help you with the layout of your poem.

Science- 2:00PM

Today we will set up an experiment.

After you have set up the experiment, make a prediction (guess) about how the bread might change and why it might change.

Then put your bread bags into a safe place and check on it over the next week to see if your predictions were correct.

Tuesday 12th January 2021

Hello Year 2 It's Miss Stevens. Today we have more addition and poetry for you as well as some Art.

English - 12:00

Today we will be looking at different features of poetry and trying to identify them in a poem.

Have a look at these definitions for poetry techniques.

Now read this poem called 'The Treasures' By Clare Bevan or you can listen to it here.

Your task is to identify and underline as many of the features in the poem that you can spot. I have done an example on the first stanza for you.

Art 2:00

Today we will be learning how to draw a portrait picture of Florence Nightingale. At the bottom of the page is a Powerpoint that has the steps of how to draw a face front on. Follow the steps to draw a face with the correct proportions. Once you have done this can you add anything to make it look more like Florence, think about her hair and what she wears on her head.

As a challenge look at these different ways that you can shade using a pencil.

Now have a go at drawing and shading in the other half of Florence's face. You many need to print this picture.
