    • Wednesday 20th Year 1 World Food Day

      Published 14/09/23

As part of Year 1's  ‘Food, Glorious Food’ topic they study different foods from around the world. The teachers would like to celebrate the rich and diverse cultural background of children in Year 1 and the foods that are significant to them.

On Wednesday 20th September Year 1 would to like to hold our own ‘World Food Day’. On that day the Year 1 children will have the opportunity to come to school dressed in clothes representative of their family’s culture. They will listen to music from around the world, look at maps of the world, and study and design flags.

As it is part of our food topic, we need food and your help; could you please provide your child with some food that is important to them and their cultural heritage. The children will be able to share and discuss their food with their friends. As the children will be sharing their food, could you please make a clear note of all the ingredients. Please be aware that ours is a ‘nut-free’ school. This celebration will take place in the classroom and will not affect your child’s usual lunch arrangements.

    • Free School meals for all - September 23

      Published 12/07/23

Dear Parent/Carer, I’m delighted to inform you that City Hall is ensuring all primary school children who attend state schools in London will receive free school meals for the full academic year, starting this September. As Mayor of London, I know parents/carers are really struggling with the cost-of-living crisis right now. That’s why I’ve taken the decision to provide funding to expand on the Government’s limited existing free school meals offer. This means all state funded primary school children in London are now eligible for free school meals. The funding we’re providing will help up to 270,000 primary school children in London, like yours, access free school meals and could save your family upwards of £440 across the year.
