Nature Studies

Goldfinch have had a wonderful first term back at Mission Grove! In our first week we made some fantastic plastic free bird feeders for the wildlife area.

 

Media Studies

In media studies we enjoyed exploring newspaper and magazines, learning about their different features.

 

 

Maths

In maths we enjoyed learning to use dienes to help us solve addition and subtraction problems.

 

Goldfinch Class loved searching for 2D shapes around the school... can you spot any more shapes where you live?

Literacy

To help Goldfinch Class learn some new and exciting adjectives, they went on an adjective hunt. Sound buttons were hidden around the hall, each sound button played a different adjective! Some of our favourites were Jaw dropping, thunderous and spectacular. Can you think of any other amazing adjectives?

 

 

Computing

In computing we learnt about algorithms and how to program a beebot. We looked at positional language (right, left, forward, back, turn) and then programmed the beebots to travel around a maze!

 

Art / DT/ Nature Studies / Science

In art we made some hedgehogs! We started by learning a bit about hedgehogs and their habitats. We then made some salt dough and moulded our hedgehogs using pasta to create their spines. We then painted them and went outside to collect some leaves and sticks to create a little habitat for them.
